It caps off a fine season for the squad, who sport a record of played nine, won nine, scoring 250 points along the way and conceding only 82. An impressive average score of 28-10.

After the unbeaten regular league season, Cardiff beat the always dangerous Rhondda Schools at Bridgend in the semi-finals to meet Swansea, who themselves had only lost to the capital’s team during the campaign.

The West Wales side led at half-time in the Final though thanks a 7-14 scoreline, Louis Hennessey with the try for Cardiff, before a second half fightback got them ahead.

Tries from Woody Facey and Louise Rochefort Shugar put the side playing in the classic blue and black ahead, but Swansea levelled the scores at 21-21, only for Harrison James to kick a penalty and his ninth point of the game was the difference between the teams.

Cardiff received the Dewar Shield for the 24th time on their 35th visit to the Final, with this team now feeding Cardiff Blues U16 South, themselves unbeaten outside the region over the last two seasons.
